A NEWPORT woman will take on her 69th 10k in 69 weeks tomorrow as part of a charity challenge.

The Argus reported how Dee Clark was aiming to run a 10k run in all 69 UK cities within 69 weeks to raise money for the For Luca campaign.

After starting on September 2 last year and completing 69 challenging weeks, she is due to take on the final race in Newport tomorrow and is inviting others to join her.

The For Luca campaign aims to raise funds for South Wales boy Luca Williams, who lost his legs to meningococcal septicaemia.

The money will go towards paying for special prosthetics for him which are not available through the NHS.

Ms Clark has raised just under £8,000 through the challenge.

For her final race, she will run a 5k run in Tredegar Park at 8am before joining in with the park run event at 9am to run the final 5k.

People are invited to join her by either running or cheering but those who do want to run in the park run will need to register for the event.
