FIRE crews were called to deal with a bedroom fire at a Somerton house in the early hours of this morning (Sunday December 22).
The blaze broke out in the first floor bedroom of a three-storey semi-detached home on Libeneth Road.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) crews from both Maindee and Malpas both attended the scene, after reports around 6.20am.
A spokesperson for SWFRS said: “Six people had left the property before we arrived.”
Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the situation.
It was not said how the fire started.
