GWENT Police say they have grave concerns about the welfare of a missing Newport teenager, who was last seen four days ago.

Nida Ul-Naseer, 18, from Newport, was reported as missing from her address on Linton Street on Saturday, December 28.

Miss Ul-Naseer, who is of Asian-Pakistani appearance and has long dark hair, was last seen at the address at around 8pm. She was last known to be wearing blue jeans and a black top and is also described as slim and being five feet three inches tall.

It is particularly out of character for the teen to go missing, and officers and her family are increasingly concerned for her welfare due to that fact she has not been in contact, especially over the New Year period.

Police are also concerned for the teenager because she has not taken her medication with her and is likely to become anaemic without it.

More than 40 specially-trained search officers with the assistance of dogs and horses are undertaking enquiries in numerous areas of Newport today, and local officers will be in the area distributing leaflets and conducting further house to house enquiries.

If anyone can assist the police with their enquiries to locate Miss Ul-Naseer, they are asked to call 101 and quote log number 448 28/12/13.
