THE A4042 Newport-Abergavenny road is closed at Llanellen Bridge due to flooding.
Gwent Police are advising travelers in the Pontypool and Abergavenny areas to use Gypsy Lane to Llanfoist as a diversionary route.
Meanwhile Monmouthshire council have been working throughout the weekend to deal with the effects of the weather.
A council spokesman confirmed that Birches Road, Penallt, is closed due to a fallen tree damaging a water main.
Welsh Water are on site, but the council is warning the public that the road may not re-open until Monday.
