The man taken to hospital this morning has died, Gwent Police have confirmed.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said the 61-year-old Newport man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where was pronounced dead.
Police went to the scene on Malpas Road at around 8.15am after they had calls concerning the health of the man seen in a parked vehicle.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and spokeswoman said they are supporting the man's family at this time.

A man in his sixties was taken to hospital this morning, the ambulance service said.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said they were called at 8.13am to the incident near the Harlequin roundabout on Lyne Road, Newport.
The man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.”
UPDATE: 9.04am
POLICE are dealing with a "medical emergency" in a car on the Harlequin roundabout, which is causing traffic queues and has partially blocked the A4042 at the roundabout.
Congestion to is stretching back to the Queensway (Old Green Interchange) and to J26 of the M4 Malpas.
