PEOPLE in the Malpas area of Newport are to be included in a scheme aimed at helping to discourage unwanted cold callers.

Signs have been posted around the Woodlands to indicate it is now a new cold calling control zone.

Breaches of the zones can be reported to trading standards, who can then contact businesses asking them to refrain from doing it again.

The Argus reported last January that the city then had four cold calling zones. The council said it had received no complaints of breaches of the zones in the previous three years.

All Malpas needs now is a"no kids zone" - to stop them kicking balls at cars, jumping on peoples walls and fences with scooters and dropping litter all over the place.

Malpas Park and the Woodlands used to be such a nice area. Now with the introduction of X-factor and other media, all the kids think they are above the law and have no respect for anyone or anything.

The parents are the same. Their kids might dress like one direction with silly hair cuts, and the parents think their kids are great, but most of them are horrid little vagabonds.

Begs the question why there have to special areas designated to stop cold calling. What is wrong with stopping it everywhere.
