This section of the road is now a known black spot for accidents. I'm sure there was a fatality at this same spot quite recently ? Something needs to be done here

Nothing needs to be done here! The problem is peoples ability, or (as in most cases) lack of it, to drive to the road/weather conditions!! All of a sudden this stretch of road from Pye Corner to Full Moon roundabout in Wattsville seems to be seeing a large proportion of accidents - generally in one of 2 locations, either Northbound on the bend near Dan-Y-Graig brickworks or Southbound on the bend near the Rogerstone on-slip, both of which are bends in the road perfectly negotiable at 70 mph. The only answer will be to reduce the speed at these bends to 50 mph and place speed cameras at the start of these bends to get people to slow down.

"Something needs to be done here then" after all? And as you suggest in your last sentence? Just as Goat Man said!

The problem isnt always peoples ability to drive in certain conditions. Not every accident on this stretch of road is because drivers have either been speeding, drink driving or careless driving. The FACTS are at least 2 serious accidents and 1 fatal accident have happened on that stretch of road through no fault of the drivers. Something needs to be done 1. about the standing water on that road. 2. there needs to be lights on the whole stretch. 3. the speed limit should be lowered slightly. Hopefully then people will be safe on that road.

I use this stretch daily, has nothing to do with speed, the accidents would have still happened at 30, 40 or 50...... changing the speed limits will have no effects, other than less damage possibly.

The problems are poor weather recently, poorly laid tarmac on this stretch, which allows huge pools of standing water, I have hit a few blind and its a bit of a hair raising moment, if I did not have both arms on wheel and good tyres, I would have spun out, the water is not visible in certain light conditions, sun low in sky or at night when dark and the whole road looks shiny when wet.

There is the occasional speeder, which can be a problem on the bend when you want the outer lane to turn right and they come out of nowhere....and they want straight over across the roundabout for Tredegar Park/Forge Road.... but thats the fault of both lanes crossing the roundabout which is needed as during rush hours its chaos, nose to tail traffic, but it does cause issues for those wanting to turn right into Bassaleg, if you move out to early, they undertake you, if you leave it too late they block you.

In this instance though, looking at the pictures , standing water does not appear to have been the fault or cause. Speeding was probably a factor.....

Driver skill is the issue here, some just think it's a race track.

There is a sign on the left just before the bend, telling you the speed is 50mph max and a right hand bend. Saying that just after on the right hand side is national speed limit sign.
I travel this road every day and in my opinion it hasn't been a safe road since the resurfaced it. It's uneven and it holds water, if you don't know the road it can easily catch you out.
