RAGLAN Castle can be seen from the sky as part of new series from Cadw to showcase historic monuments in Wales.
The Castle’s from the Clouds series has captured castles on film from the air and includes Raglan Castle in Monmouthshire which was built in 1430s. Other sites which can be seen from a bird’s-eye view are Caerphilly Castle and Tintern Abbey.
Raglan Castle attracts thousands of visitors each year and was completed by Williams Hubert.
It was first acquired by his father William ap Thomas who started building work on the site which was once a manor.
Although the castle which includes the Great Tower was built as a statement of wealth it managed to hold off Oliver Cromwell’s forces for 13 weeks during the last sieges of the Civil War.
The castle was later taken by Parliament and parts destroyed.
The castle has been the location for TV shows including BBC’s hit show Merlin.
