TWO people have been arrested following the death of a motorcyclist from Nantyglo after a collision on the A465 near Abergavenny.
The emergency services were called to the scene of a road traffic collision at around 12.20am this morning after a collision involving a motorcycle and a car occurred on the Westbound A465 between Llanfoist and Gilwern.
The motorcyclist, a 53 year old man from Nantyglo, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 37-year-old man from Brynmawr and a 34-year-old woman from Gilwern have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They are currently in police custody and are assisting officers with their enquiries. The A465 between the Hardwick to and Gilwern remains closed in both directions.
Gwent Police say diversions are likely to remain in place for several hours.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to ring 101 quoting log 11 23/08/14.
