THE RSPCA’s Newport Animal Centre is looking for an owner to adopt a two-year-old Mastiff cross.

Bea arrived at the centre after not having the best start in life.

She came into the RSPCA’s care after her owner was struggling to cope and couldn’t meet her needs properly.

A RSPCA spokeswoman said that at first she was not the happiest of dogs, but now she is a totally different pooch and is looking and feeling much better.

Rebecca Jeffery, deputy manager at the centre, said: “Bea has a lovely temperament and enjoys her time playing with toys and running off lead.

“She is looking for an experienced large breed owner as she can be very strong.

“Her new human best friend would benefit from keeping up her training and socialisation.”

She added: “Bea could live with sensible teenagers, but would need to be further assessed if she was to go with an existing dog.

“She will need a home without cats as she finds them too exciting.”

Anyone interested in rehoming Bea can contact Newport Animal Centre on 0300 123 0744.

Alternatively you can email newport@rspca.org.uk.

The centre, based at Hartridge Farm Road, is open 11.30am to 4pm every day, except Thursdays.
