A 16-year-old boy who is charged with the murder of a Blackwood man has had his court case adjourned until November.

The teenager is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Michael Lee Emmett, who died on Tuesday, September 2.

The teenager, who cannot be named, will now appear at crown court in the week beginning November 10

Mr Emmett died a month after sustaining injuries in an incident on Friday, August 1, on Bryn Road and Apollo Way in Blackwood.

An inquest held on September 24 heard that a post mortem examination revealed that Mr Emmett died of liver injuries .

Mr Emmett’s funeral will take place at Saint Peter’s Church on Church Street in Aberbargoed at 2pm on Wednesday, October 1.
