NEWPORT Bus will operate additional services to enhance the city and rural network from Monday, November 3.

The 60 service, contracted by Monmouthshire County Council, provides a link between Newport and Monmouth via Caerleon, Usk and Raglan.

This further supports passengers to and from the Newport and Monmouth areas as Newport Bus currently operates the W3-W5 Monmouth town services.

This means that a day ticket bought on these services is now valid for travel on Newport Bus vehicles through to Newport and then on to Cardiff and Cwmbran.

The 62 service jointly contracted by Newport and Monmouthshire councils is being replaced by two additional services.

Areas of Llanwern village, Bishton and Redwick will be served by a Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service, a form of transport pre-booked by the customer up to 24 hours in advance, using smaller vehicles than buses.

The 73 service between Newport and Chespstow will also divert via Treberth Estates at certain times.

A new 75 service will provide a direct link from Magor to Spytty Retail Park as well as providing links between Caldicot, Caerwent and Sudbook.

And after discussions with Coleg Gwent, Newport Campus, a small change to the 74 service will see the 15.50 departure from Newport no longer serving the college but with the 16.40 departure changed to replace this service.

Timetables will be publicised on www.newportbus.co.uk
