CHILDREN from Cefn Fforest Primary School yesterday laid 150 ceramic poppies at the village cenotaph in commemoration of the First and Second World Wars.
The junior school pupils took inspiration from the project at the Tower of London and spent a week making the ceramic poppies.
Julie Farmer, headteacher at the school, said: “The children were moved by the images of the Tower of London and wanted to do something themselves.
“We laid the poppies yesterday at the Cefn Fforest cenotaph which is right near our school.
“It was a really poignant moment.”
