TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after an incident in Duffryn last week.
A 17 year old has been released on police bail pending further enquiries and an 18 year old remains in police custody.
A 40 year old man was cycling along an alleyway near Sandpiper Way in Duffryn on Wednesday 21st January, when two men allegedly blocked his path and demanded money.
When the victim stated he didn't have any, the pair are alleged to have shot him in the face with what is believed to have been a BB gun.
The man went to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he required stitches and has since been released.
His bike, a black and orange “X-rated Exile” jump bike, was abandoned at the time of the incident and hasn’t been found since.
Anyone with information relating to this bike, or the incident, is asked to call 101 quoting log 436 21/01/15 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
