YOU can still see the shortlisted entries for the South Wales Argus Young Gwent Artist of the Year competition at Newport's Project Space.

The exhibition is at the gallery on Commercial Street, where more than 30 works of art are on show, ranging from a painting by a youngsters aged just 8, to oil paintings and sculptures by 17- and 18-year-olds from schools across Gwent.

Anyone can pop in free of charge.

The gallery will be open to the public today from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Judges will then pick the winners who will be announced at a special presentation ceremony. The competition is sponsored by Western Power Distribution.
