A NEWPORT curry kitchen is hoping to spice things up with its first promotional video.

Rachel’s Curry Kitchen based in Newport market has collaborated with Newport based film company, Lazulite Films, to create their video on Saturday, May 30.

The company set up by Newport university film students Ashley Harris, 19, from Newport and Chris Saunders, 20, from Neath, aims to produce high quality entertainment and reach out to as many people as possible.

“Rachel came to us [to create the video] as we have been advertising our services around Newport,” Mr Harris said.

“She came to us around a month and a half ago to do the promotional video.

“We want everyone to get dressed up in different fancy costumes and the video will see Rachel cooking curry and everyone in Newport smelling it and charging down to get some.”

The students who set up their company in March this year hope their three minute film will be a fun experience for its 20 odd participants.

“We want people to come together to have a fun day,” Mr Harris added.

The video, which will feature the Vindaloo football song, hopes to get members of the public of any age and background involved in the project.

They will be filming at various locations around the city and are appealing for members of the public to get involved to feature in the film which ties in with the big Splash event.

Those wanting to feature simply have to turn up the locations specified throughout the day or get in touch beforehand to arrange anything special for the video as the company are open to fun and exciting people to film.

From 11am to 12pm the film will be shot at the curry kitchen and the downstairs market; from 12pm to 12:45pm filming will take place in the upstairs market; from 1pm to 2pm it will then be filmed on Newport High Street.

Participants are invited to wear fancy dress and the film will be released online from June.
