A CAERPHILLY man accused of killing a Barry teenager has pleaded guilty to murder.

David Braddon has pleaded guilty to the murder of 18-year-old Conner Marshall who was attacked at Trecco Bay Caravan Park, Porthcawl in March.

Braddon 26, of Attlee Court, Caerphilly, made his plea at Cardiff Crown Court earlier today (May 26) where he appeared via video link from Swansea prison in front of Judge Eleri Rees and a packed public gallery.

Detective Chief Inspector Kath Pritchard, of the South Wales Police Specialist Crime Investigations Team, said: “This was a brutal attack on a teenage boy which has left his family and friends devastated by the incident, and brought shock and sadness to both the visitors of Trecco Bay and also the community of Barry.

“We would like to thank the local community for their support and patience while we investigated Conner’s murder. We know incidents like this can cause a great deal of concern and anxiety. The community support has undoubtedly helped us to bring the person responsible for Conner’s murder to justice.”

David Braddon will be sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on June 3.
