A MAN has been arrested following the stabbing of a teenager in Newport.
The 17-year-old was admitted to the Royal Gwent Hospital after an incident on Saturday, October 10, at around 5.30pm. Drivers of two vehicles became involved in a dispute which took place initially on Clarence Place and then later at Wharf Road/Corporation Road.
During the dispute, both parties were injured, one sustained minor injuries and the other received puncture wounds to the back.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said a 26-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently on police bail.
A 17-year-old has been released from hospital and is assisting with police enquiries.
