BASSALEG Post Office in Newport is staying put following a recent public consultation regarding its relocation.
The proposal to relocate the branch was undertaken due to the conditional resignation of its existing agent and the need to find an alternative operator for the service.
A Post Office spokesman said: “Following a six week period of public consultation, and after reviewing the
feedback from local customers and other interested parties, we have decided not to proceed with the proposed move of Bassaleg Post Office to Nisa Local, 1 St Basils Stores, Bassaleg. The branch will therefore continue to operate from its existing location.
“The proposal was undertaken due to the conditional resignation of the existing agent and the need to find an alternative operator.”
