A WOMAN found by her partner at the bottom of her garden in Newport died an accidental death, a coroner has ruled.
Penelope Coombes, who was 56 when she was found on Glen Usk View in Caerleon on November 22, 2014, had suffered injuries to her face and an injury to the right side of her chest.
Gwent coroner David Bowen concluded that she suffered unintended injuries she could not have forecast as he recorded a verdict of accidental death.
Mr Bowen told an inquest at Newport Coroner’s Court: “She lost her footing and fell onto wet ground and this was quite unintended and unexpected on her part. In these circumstances the proper conclusion is her death was an accidental death.”
