MEMBERS of the public braved the bad weather on Saturday for the annual Rogerstone Community Council spring clean-up.
Girl Guides and members of the Women’s Institute along with members of the public helped to collect around 500 bags of rubbish.
Rogerstone councillor Chris Evans said the clean-up, which has been running for the past four years, said it was a great success.
He added: “This to me is what it’s all about, our community in Rogerstone coming together, doing – not just talking about it.
“It is about bringing in the community, putting politics aside and working together.
“I would like to say thank you and well done to all involved, and as summer approaches, let's all help keep Rogerstone tidy.”
