A NEWPORT author has released a new book exploring the life of the men behind Tutankhamun's discovery.

William Cross, 63, who lives in St Julian’s, released the book, called “Carnarvon, Carter and Tutankhamun Revisited: The hidden truths and doomed relationships” last week

Mr Cross said that his book looks deeper into the history and lives of Lord Carnarvon and Howard Carter, most recently featured in ITV drama Tutankhamun.

“It has been something which I have been planning on doing for several years, before the ITV programme came out. They don’t focus much on the history of the people behind the discovery, but the book does.”

Carnarvon, Carter and Tutankhamun Revisited not only looks into the family history of the two men, but also examines Lord Carnavon’s death in 1923.

Mr Cross’ book is available from online retailers, and he will be holding book launches in both Newport and Blaenavon in the next month.
