ONE of the UK’s leading hairdressers passed on some tips to students during a visit to a Gwent college.
Jay Mahmood, global artistic ambassador for Goldwell, gave a lecture on cutting techniques at Coleg Gwent, City of Newport campus, before demonstrating on a student last week.
“I was delighted to be invited to Coleg Gwent to spend time with students,” said Mr Mahmood, who started his career as an apprentice with Vidal Sassoon at 16.
“Teaching is my passion and my favourite aspect of my job is being able to travel and meeting and inspiring young people within the industry.”
Nichola Watkins, head of school for creative industries at Coleg Gwent, said it was a “valuable and entertaining” visit.
