POLICE are appealing for information after a vast amount of jewellery was snatched in a break-in.
The offence happened at an address in Avenue Road in Abergavenny sometime between 7.20am and 1.20pm on Thursday, February 9.
The offender/s entered the home by breaking a patio door and stole a "vast amount" of high value and sentimental jewellery, police state.
Officers are looking to speak with a male who was seen at midday in the area carrying a cardboard box with a pink plastic item on top.
He was using a dark coloured soft top vehicle with the roof down, which was seen in the area at the time.
He is described as white and approximately 5ft 9 tall with short dark hair and a dark coloured jacket and was seen driving the direction of towards Pen Y Pound in Abergavenny.
A small white van with blue writing on the side was also seen driving away from the area at a similar time with the driver described as having brown hair.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman added: “These males at this time are not suspects but just witnesses and maybe able to help officers with their enquires.
“The victim has also discovered a large blue plastic storage container is missing and it’s believed the offender/s may have used this to carry some of the stolen items.”
