FIREFIGHTERS were called to a "well alight" first floor house fire in Fairwater, Cwmbran, last night.
Crews from Cwmbran, New Inn and Malpas attended to the fire at the mid-terrace property at 8.36pm.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire was on a bedroom in the first floor.
"The first floor was well alight.
"Nobody was taken to hospital as they were out, luckily.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation at the moment."
The spokeswoman said that the fire was put out at 10.38pm.
