WE LEAVE politics behind for a moment today to focus on the build up to what is going to be a huge day for Newport County AFC.

This Saturday the Exiles will take on Notts County at Rodney Parade. But this is not just any other match.

This is the biggest test of the players’ resolve in the club’s recent history. And we want them to know we are right behind them,

Yesterday we highlighted just how important the game is for the club.

Today, caretaker manager Mike Flynn tells how he fully believes the players will be able to deliver the goods.

He has faith in the team which has in recent weeks shown great faith in him.

And he also pays tribute to the fans who have been through so much in the past couple of years and who he describes as superb. We can’t see anybody arguing with that.

Victory this Saturday would guarantee the Exiles another season in League Two.

Already 4,500 tickets have been sold so there is definitely a hunger to see Newport County pull off what would be a remarkable escape act.

What better way to mark the occasion than with a packed out Rodney Parade. If you haven’t got your ticket already there is still time.
