BRYNMAWR town centre was buzzing on Saturday when hundreds of people turned out for the town’s food festival.

Visitors were able to enjoy a wide selection of food - including pizza, beef burgers, French street food, Italian ice cream and speciality shortbread, amongst others.

Wayne Hodgins, councillor for Brynmawr and one of event's organisers in collaboration with the Little Dragon Pizza Van, said: “The food festival was excellent.

“The idea was to bring some life into the town centre and it succeeded.

“We have had some really good feedback and we think this is something that can be expanded.

“We have had a week of events in the town centre, which has included a summer festival and a classic car show,” he said.

"I think it has been very successful because people are enjoying themselves.”

Mr Hodgins added that the food festival had been the perfect way to finish the week of events.

He said another event is now being planned to take place in the town at the end of August in collaboration with Brynmawr Trader’s Association.

One of the organisers Peter Morris added: "We would like to say thanks for people coming.

"Also there were no issues with people getting to the function which was excellent."

Mr Morris thanked Costain for their support with the event.
