A PUB group is offering 15,000 free pints during an initiative aimed at celebrating local pubs.

Ei Publican Partnerships, the UK’s largest leased and tenanted pub company, has launched National Pub Fortnight to highlight and encourage interest in British pubs.

They have also developed an app to support the fortnight, and the first 15,000 consumers will have access to an e-voucher to claim their free pint as well as a list of 1,000 participating pubs where it can be redeemed.

National Pub Fortnight starts tomorrow and runs until August 6.

Two Gwent pubs are taking part: The Cross Inn and The Measure Inn which are both located on Newport Road in Caldicot.

The pub is the place where many host significant life moments from christenings, marriages and birthdays to breakups, according to a new study revealed to celebrate National Pub Fortnight.

A quarter of British adults visit the pub at least once a week, with men more than twice as likely as women to visit their local watering hole two or three times each week.

Pub goers across the country voted EastEnders’ beloved Queen Vic as the on-screen pub they’d most like to have a drink in, closely followed by The Hogs Head from Harry Potter.
