IT’S GETTING closer to one of the most anticipated events of the year – the Caerphilly Big Cheese.

This weekend the Big Cheese will once again bring Caerphilly to life as people of all ages go along to enjoy an extravaganza of street entertainers, living history encampments, music, dance, a traditional funfair, folk dancing, falconry, fire eating, minstrels, troubadours and much more.

This year the event lands in Caerphilly on Saturday and takes place through to the Sunday - starting at 10am each day.

Also, this year the Big Cheese welcomes a fantastic Cheese Market with 14 cheese producers displaying their wares.

Visitors can try as they buy with lots of delicious cheeses from top class producers including The Blaenafon Cheddar Company, The Great British Cheese Company and Snowdonia Cheese to name just a few.

The Big Cheese is being billed as a must-see attraction for all visitors.

Portraying the history, heritage and culture of Caerphilly, the event attracts more than 80,000 people annually.

Families from all over the country are preparing to flock to Caerphilly to experience this fun-filled programme of activities and entertainment.

The Big Cheese weekend is a free event and more than 80,000 people are expected to turn up this year.
