A PROCESSION of cars travelled through Torfaen over the weekend to mark the birthday of a much-loved Pontypool dad who died in a crash.

Adam Millett, of Pontypool, died following a crash between a car and a lorry in Garn Yr Erw, near Blaenavon, last year, after being airlifted from the scene.

Following his death, tributes poured in for the 26- year-old with family describing him as a “wonderful daddy, son, brother and uncle”.

Ahead of the one-year anniversary of his death, brother Tomos organised a car cruise on what would have been his 27th birthday.

The event on Sunday, September 24, saw family and friends meet up at convoy points across Torfaen before driving to Blaenavon for a lantern ceremony.

Around 150 cars took part in the cruise and a raffle was also held, raising£105 for Wales Air Ambulance.

Sister Chloe Millett, posting on Facebook, said: “Miss you today and everyday Ad, not a day goes by were we don’t miss you all the world.

“What I would give to have just one more day with you".

Reflecting on the cruise, she also gave thanks to everyone who supported and took part in the memorial event.

Since Adam’s death, his family have worked to keep his memory alive, including spraying car a yellow and fitting it with a registration spelling out the surname Millett.

Family and friends, fundraising under the name #TeamMillett, have also raised more than £6,000 for Wales Air Ambulance this year at several charity events, paying tribute to their role in airlifting Adam to hospital following the crash.
