DETECTIVES investigating the Parsons Green terrorist attack have released to men who were arrested in Newport with no further action this afternoon

The men released are a 25-year-old man who was arrested in Newport on Tuesday, 19 September and a 30-year-old man who was arrested in Newport, on Wednesday, 20 September.

Another 20-year old man, who was arrested in Cardiff on Monday, 25 September, was also released with no further action.

To date, seven people have been arrested as part of the investigation being carried out by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.

One person has been charged and the other six released with no further action.

Searches are continuing at one address in Cardiff as the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command continues to investigate the terrorist attack on Friday, 15 September. The search in Surrey has been completed and work is currently under way to return the scene to normal.

Ahmed Hassan, 18, of Sunbury, Surrey, was charged with the attempted to murder persons travelling on a District Line Train from Wimbledon, and maliciously caused by triacetone triperoxide (TATP) or other explosive substance and explosion of a nature likely to endanger life or to cause serious injury to property.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, September, 22 where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, October 13.
