Torfaen Council have said they will not be able to provide any waste collections in Trevethin, Penygarn, Wainfelin, Tranch and Cwmynyscoy tomorrow and are asking residents not to put waste containers out for collection.

A council spokesman said: “A very limited service may be available for some properties with scheduled collections in Pontypool, New Inn, Pontymoel, Sebastopol and Pontrhydyrun.

“For these areas we will be undertaking an assessment in the morning and collections will be carried out where safe to do so. Please place your waste containers out for collection as normal.

“We aim to return for the missed collections from Monday and Tuesday on the weekend when conditions improve.”

A spokeswoman for Blaenau Gwent Council said there would be no refuse or recycling collections tomorrow.
