TWO men arrested on suspicion of murdering a Tredegar teenager were bailed.

Rhys Davies, 17, of Walter Conway Avenue, died of head injuries on February 14 after an unprovoked attack on St Mary Street, Cardiff, one day earlier.

The two men, aged 17 and 18, both from Cardiff, who were arrested in connection with his death were bailed pending further enquiries over the weekend.

South Wales Police said the incident happened at around 6.40pm on February 13 when Mr Davies was out shopping with a friend.

They were heading back to the bus station when it is thought they got involved in an argument with passers-by outside the Ladbrokes shop on St Mary Street.

Police are still appealing for witnesses as they continue with their enquiries.

A temporary police station has been set up near where the attack took place and appeal posters were handed out by detectives on Friday night.

They are keen to speak to a man seen riding a bike near to where the incident happened.

The rider appeared to be a workman and was wearing a black donkey-style jacket with an orange tabard.

Anyone with information is asked to attend the mobile police station, contact the incident room at Fairwater Police Station on 029 2057 1530 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
