SWINE FLU: Three more Gwent cases

THREE new cases of swine flu were reported in Gwent today.

Two women aged 36 and 38 from Caerphilly County Borough and another woman aged 21 from Torfaen are clinically presumed cases. This brings the total to 25 clinically presumed cases.

3 new cases bring the Wales total of confirmed cases to 37.

They are a man from Wrexham and women from Anglesey and Cardiff.

Clinically presumed cases are household contacts of confirmed cases of swine flu who, because of their symptoms, are presumed to have swine flu but who have not been laboratory tested.

In such cases, there is enough evidence that the patient has contracted swine flu for their doctor to treat them.

Testing is unnecessary to reach a diagnosis.
