CHRISTMAS has come early for children at St David's Primary School in Newport thanks to a donation of books from a local power firm.
Every year Western Power Distribution staff have collected books to donate to worthy causes.
For 2009 they chose to support St David's Primary School to the delight of children and their teachers.
Headteacher Bree Ellsworthy said the school was very grateful for the early Christmas present.
"It's so nice to have good quality books which the children can learn from," she said.
"Our pupils could hardly wait to get their hands on them - they were just like bees around a honey pot."
