AN EBBW Vale packaging plant is under threat of closure with the loss of up to 60 jobs, it has been reported.
The Argus understands AGI Shorewood, which makes CD and DVD packaging, has begun a consultation to close its operation on the Rassau Industrial Estate.
It has been reported that the company plans to move all work to its other factories in Swindon and Slough, and that the consultation process is expected to finish on February 21.
When contacted by the Argus yesterday, AGI Shorewood in Ebbw Vale refused to confirm the reports.
AGI Shorewood’s website says the firm has multiple manufacturing operations in North America, Europe and Asia, and lists its head office as based in Stamford, Connecticut, United States.
