TWO men have been charged in connection with a robbery at a Valleys takeaway.
Last Sunday at 9.50pm two men entered the Taste of India, High Street, Pentwynmawr and demanded money, making off with what police believe was "a significant amount of cash".
The men then ran down a lane opposite the takeaway leading to a sport field, police believe. The three men working there were unharmed.
Three men were arrested on Friday night, and police said yesterday that one 21-year-old man from Crumlin was charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm, and another man, 23, from Pontllanfraith, was charged with robbery.
Both men have been remanded in custody to appear in Caerphilly magistrates tomorrow.
A third man, aged 25, also from Pontllanfraith and who was also arrested on Friday night was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police said there were no customers in the takeaway at the time and there were no injuries.
If anyone has any information about the incident call Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
