AN Ebbw Vale man is beginning a 12-month prison sentence after burgling his father’s house.

Jonathan Lee Price, 21, admitted walking into his dad’s home while his family were sleeping and taking a handbag, two mobile phones and a set of car keys, before taking a Sat Nav and CD player from the vehicle.

Price took the items, before opening Mr Moses’ Toyota Lucida and taking a Sat Nav and CD player from inside.

The police were called and following what Mr Greenwood said was "a violent struggle", Price was arrested.

Defence barrister Jeff Jones said Price was homeless and on drugs when he carried out the offence, adding "he does not want to be in that state again".

Judge Rhys Rowlands called it "a particularly mean burglary which had drugs at its root" and sentenced Price to 12 months in prison, of which he must serve half
