THREE more celebrities, who all found fame as soap stars in Eastenders, will appear at a gala dinner in Newport in July.

Natalie Cassidy, who played Sonia Jackson, Tamsin Outhwaite, who played Melanie Healey and Tom Ellis, who played Dr Oliver Cousins, are the latest names to be added to the guest list for a charity dinner in aid of the Gareth Thomas Foundation for Music and Sport.

The charity, which was set up by rugby legend Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas and Newport businessmen Daniel O'Connell and Clayton Richards, incorporates Life Music Foundation and Life Sport Foundation and has already helped more than 2,000 youngsters.

All proceeds from the dinner will go to the Newport-based charity which aims to provide free music tuition and sports coaching and access to instruments and equipment.

Natalie Cassidy was determined to support the charity after becoming friends with Mr Thomas when they were housemates in Celebrity Big Brother.

Mr Thomas is also friends with Welsh actor Tom Ellis and his wife Tamsin Outhwaite and is grateful for their support.

The former Wales rugby captain, and the charity's president, said: "I am delighted that Natalie, Tom and Tamsin are coming along to support this event.

“I know it’s going to be a great evening with top class entertainment and I am would urge everyone to grab a ticket to make sure you don’t miss out on the charity event of the year."

More than 900 people are expected to attend the black tie event at the Celtic Manor Resort on July 14.

The Argus revealed earlier this month how presenter Gethin Jones and Mr Thomas' other Celebrity Big Brother housemates Frankie Cocozza, Natasha Giggs, Nicola McLean and Kirk Norcross, are already on the guest list.

The night will also have an auction, disco and a performance from a well-known band.

More celebrity guests are expected to be announced over the next few weeks.

Tickets cost £100 each and VIP packages are also available.
