ONE of the most iconic films of the 1970s is being revived on stage at a Blaenau Gwent School from tonight until Thursday.

Budding actors at Abertillery Comprehensive School will perform a three-night run of Grease, the musical which originally starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

Year 11 pupils Jordan Jones and Morgan Meredith play the lead roles of Sandy and Danny.

The musical is set in 1958 America and follows teenagers Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson who meet at the beach and fall in love.

Sandy is due to go back to Australia, but her family decide to stay and enroll her at Rydell High, where Danny is a student.

The story follows the pair and their friends, who all belong to the T-birds and the Pink Ladies, as they prepare for the school’s end of year disco and a dramatic car race.

Tickets are £4 from the school.
