THE search for missing Langstone pensioner Ronald Bowman continued today.
Mr Bowman, 74, who has dementia was reported missing from Panteg Hospital, Griffithstown on Friday 29th June.
Gwent Police said specialist search teams and neighbourhood police officers have been out looking for Mr Bowman every day since he went missing.
These include water searches with SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association), Longtown Mountain Rescue Team, and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team.
The police helicopter is also assisting with the search.
Leaflets and posters appealing for information have been produced. Local officers are distributing them and the mobile police station is also being deployed to raise public awareness.
Gwent Police has received many enquiries and offers of help from members of the public concerned about Mr Bowman.
Sergeant Pete Thomas, who is coordinating the search operation, said: "We would like to thank the public for their information and for the kind offers of help we have received. However, although we would urge the public to remain vigilant, the areas we are concentrating our searches in are only appropriate for specially trained officers and partner agencies.
"I would also encourage people not to listen to rumour or speculation, but to check the Gwent Police website or Facebook page for any updates.
"If you believe you have seen Mr Bowman or have any information that may help us to find him, please don't instigate rumour but contact us immediately by calling 101."
Ronald Bowman is described a six feet tall, of slim build, bald but with grey hair around the sides, he was wearing a white t-shirt and brown trousers.. It is possible Ronald may not have been wearing any footwear.
