THE hunt for the Newport winner of a £1 million prize is being launched today.

The National Lottery is sending a van to tour the city with information about the EuroMillions winning ticket prominently displayed.

The EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw took place on Friday 27 July - the night of the of the Olympics opening ceremony and guaranteed to make 100 UK millionaires in one night – but one ticket-holder from the city has yet to come forward and claim their £1 million prize.

For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection printed on their ticket. The winning selection on Friday 27 July for this prize was DYD582030 and the lucky ticket-holder has until 23 January 2013 to claim their prize1 – this information will be shown on the ad van.

The ticket-holder from Newport is one of only seven missing millionaires who are yet to claim their prize.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest the prize has generated, will go to The National Lottery Good Causes – adding to the £28 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.
