AN 18-YEAR-OLD man from Newport who was arrested after swimming naked in the river Usk has been released from police custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace following the incident, but Gwent Police have confirmed he has not been charged and they will not be taking any further action against him.
Emergency services were called to the riverbank near Castle Bingo on Tuesday after receiving reports that a man was in distress.
The naked man was thrown a towel to cover his modesty and rescue lines were thrown down to help him climb the slippery mud bank.
