CHARITY HOVER: Newport mayor Cllr John Guy is looking for budding Hovercraft pilots for a special fundraising event
NEWPORT mayor John Guy is looking for budding hovercraft pilots for a special fundraising event next weekend.
High Cross Hovercraft Ltd will visit Rogerstone Welfare Grounds on October 6 and 7 giving people the chance to take a hovercraft flight as a passenger or even learn how to pilot a craft.
All proceeds go to the mayor's charities - Alzeimer's Society and St David's Hospice Care.
Between 1pm and 5pm on October 6 visitors can have a go as a passenger for £5. Participants can turn up on the day.On October 7 the firm will be running 90 minute lessons from 9am to 5pm. Each lesson costs £40, with the last session starting at 3pm.Lessons must be booked in advance. To book e-mail mayors.office@newport.gov.uk or call 01633 232035
