APRIL Jones' mother has made a desperate plea for help finding the five-year-old, as police continue to question a man over the little girl's disappearance.

Coral Jones begged for any information that may lead to her daughter being found at a press conference this afternoon.

She said: "We are desperate for any news. April is only five years old. Please, please help find her.’’ Earlier, Dyfed Powys Police took the unusual step of confirming the identity of the arrested man as Mark Bridger as they released pictures of him and his Land Rover Discovery.

Coral Jones, who was accompanied by her stepfather, April's step-grandfather, Dai Smith, sobbed as she said: "It's been 36 hours since April was taken from us.

"There must be someone out there who knows where she is and can help the police find her. We are desperate for any news.

"April is only five years old. Please, please, help find her.’’ After her plea, she broke down in tears, holding her head in her hands, and was comforted by Mr Smith as Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan made a further appeal for information.
