A FIVE-YEAR-OLD girl from Newport has done her bit to help the search for April Jones by making ribbons for her classmates.

Demsie Donovan-Wilkins, who is the same age as the little girl missing from Machynlleth, made 20 pink ribbons with her grandmother Jenny Donovan, 50, from Nash Road.

Ms Donovan said Demsie decided to make the ribbons after she came home from Lliswerry Primary School and saw on the news that pink ribbons were being put up on fences in support of her search.

Ms Donovan said: "We just want April to be found safe and well."

A man was arrested on the suspicion of the murder of April Jones yesterday. Police had applied to the court for more time to question him.
