A 60-BEDROOM hotel is coming to Newport city centre above bar and nightclub Delilah’s.
Refurbishment will begin on the top half of the High Street property first, so that Delilah’s bar and nightclub remains open as usual for as long as possible. The Newport hotel is due to be complete towards the end of 2013.
A spokesman for Delilah’s said: “We may stay open, it’s an open book at the moment.
They are still finalising the details.
“We may continue operating as a bar and nightclub, with a hotel operating above us.
“If not there are a lot of vacant properties close by and if needs be we could move.”
The Premier Inn hotel, to be located in High Street, is part of parent company Whitbread’s aim to increase the 49,000 Premier Inn bedrooms across the UK to 65,000 open and trading by 2016.
