Why ignore my message?

THREE weeks have passed and still no collection of glass or cans from Cwmbran Celtic Sports Club.

Despite phoning the unhelpful desk at Pontypool and leaving a voice message on October 12 and again on October 19 stating the problem, I get the same inane message thet they will “endeavour to contact you by the end of the working day”. Still no call back and still no collection, so the glass and cans are being added to the normal refuse and collected in the landfill waste. Makes you wonder what we pay council tax for. Certainly not for the front line service or the “endeavouring” staff who are never there to talk to so you have to leave a message that is ignored.

Stephen Harvey, Club manager, Cwmbran Celtic

Stephen, Please dont pay your council to collect your 'WASTE'. Just think, they charge you for collection of your cans then sell your cans for approx 50p a kilo when you add this up over a year they should pay you !!! Recycle and make some good money at the same time. Simples !

I haven't started on Wastesavers yet. Pensioners and severely disabled people in Newport are told to sort and grade their waste otherwise face a fine so that Wastesavers management can make a profit. What I dont get is how come they pay out nearly a million pounds in wages every year and have so many volunteers too ????
