IT WILL surprise no one that former Plaid councillor Alan Pritchard runs to the defence of Ian Johnson, after all Ian’s candidacy has been endorsed by Plaid Cymru assembly member Jocelyn Davies.
I would simply say that the Labour Party candidate Hamish Sanderson has all the qualities needed to make an excellent police commissioner, with years of experience working in a busy law firm, who, if elected, will be answerable to the people.
The question is with two former police officers standing for police commissioner one has to ask can they really detach themselves from their former roles and hold the chief constable to account?
Cllr Nigel Dix, Mountclaire Ave, Blackwood
