Floods could hit near home

I AM writing this letter because of all the rain the country is having.
People have said on the news that all their lives they have never seen floods like this. Well, Newport could be next. A friend who died last year always said that the banks of the river Usk had silted up to a very high level and they need to be dredged, so the tide would run out fast. I am quite sure he voiced his fears to the council but I cannot be positive on that. Also the reen through Lliswerry needs to be dred-ged again, it was very close to overflowing recently.
